This interview and knowing nothing about Fei-Fei Li has convinced me that she is an absolute gem!
Calling Fei-Fei Li the "Godmother of Al" does a disservice to figures like Geoffrey Hinton. Don't get me wrong; she is an outstanding Al scientist, but she is far from holding that title.
Will TIME ever reprint that and fix that error?

we should keep in mind that what she is striving to do is to create an artificial world model. Each human being, intakes, visual, and other sense information and imputes what they believe they are seeing by virtue of qualitative aspects that take place within their perspective brains. if any two people could project what they are seeing when they are seeing it those projections would never be identical because of qualitative factors and biases. Everyone creates their own world their own reality.
What absolute garbage.
A humble lady who has compassion, not a high flying executive trying to create shareholder value. I’m not against capitalism, but taken to extremes it creates a compassionately starved society.
a blindspot for Western tech scientists/eng….is the assumption on nature of brain as being same of mind, without a common definition of mind, and also on the nature of human consciousness vs animal consc vs machine consc.
