    Veteran actress Ayesha Khan, a pioneering figure in Pakistan Television (PTV) drama, was discovered deceased at her residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7, Karachi. Police authorities confirmed the unfortunate incident on Thursday evening, noting that the 77-year-old actress had been living alone.

    Neighbours raised concerns after detecting a foul odor emanating from Khan’s apartment, prompting them to alert her family. Police swiftly responded, transferring the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for necessary legal procedures before later moving it to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth.

    Dr. Summaiya Syed, the police surgeon, indicated that a post-mortem examination is pending until Khan’s son arrives. Initial findings suggest the actress may have passed away in her bathroom.

    Born in 1948, Ayesha Khan’s illustrious career spanned over five decades, marked by powerful performances in numerous PTV classics. She was also renowned as the elder sister of the late actress Khalida Riasat.

    Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced shortly as the Pakistani entertainment industry mourns the loss of one of its most esteemed actresses.
