well this just seems like a weird 'analysis' .. of what? not saying theres nothing wrong in the media with beauty standards or whatever, but how is a curse to seolhyun? it may have very well been her own decision to make her image like that for her own benefit, yet some people just love to find some fault and blame it on big bad higher ups or whatever..
The problem with his video is, the programs dealing with their agency. And needs to portraits what their agency asks, not the PD intentions. Not even the MC intention too. they say "AOA is so laid back right now" is good example of it, meaning that they have certain image back then, that the program needs to follow…..
ANOREXIA!!!!!
Why are you assuming Seolhyun spoke a lot but was cut? She was young and is on the most popular show in the country, probably she was nervous. And she might be naturally shy too. She might actually not have said much.
I turned this off about a halfway through. So the criticism is that the show didn't let her talk enough so we can listen to her talk about herself right? The argument is that Running Man, a gameshow which is known to put the focus on its members over the guests, should've changed the theme and concept of the show so that we could gain a glimpse into the deep insights of Seolhyun? A 20 something year old girl who got famous for being pretty and dancing on stage? This argument makes sense if this was a podcast where they bring guests out to have a discussion, but they just made her dance. But you're saying why are they doing the same thing that they do to every celebrity guest on the show? Why are they just focusing on her looks and making her dance? That's what the show is about. Pretty idol members come out to get exposure and promote their group and single, look pretty, sing, and dance. Nobody expects them to come on to discuss their personal lives or whatever it is this guy expects them to talk about. It's not that type of show. The producers, the members, the guests, and the viewers are all aware of this and participate willingly.
Although these are clearly the signs of mental illness of the whole industry, one can't disregard the role of the "idol" herself in all of this. I don't believe they are getting silenced, I think they wholeheartedly support the said silencing given that it benefits them in further advancing their career, which, let's not forget, is based upon exploiting sad sick fantasies.
Great dissection. I wonder what your opinion on Knowing Bros is.
This show represents the creepyness of Korean mens 😅😅😅
damn, i did not expect this video would be goooodd
Do they really think skeleton as sexy? I thought opposite sex attraction due to breeding related reasons. Wider hip, more meat to accommodate breeding.
the shit women go through i swear 🙄🖐🏼
This video was amazing.
this vid could be made with every other girl idol at that time , sadly thats how it is there.
no way he told sulli to look like bones walking 😂
It is an image that they have to keep so the agency, the managers ask the producers are asked to abide by that usually editing sequences where the person looks funny or stupid bcz it is not an idol image. This image is what generates money for them. The second thing is when your idol career comes to an end, the agency let go if their older idols to focus more on younger ones as they have to establish their image as well. Most importantly idols are also told to act and react in a certain way. Being a very old fan, I saw this transition of idols being more carefree and themselves. Infinite L also talked about this image shaping a lot of times.
Seolhyun is so overrated. Compared to the top beauties in Kpop, she's average at best. Even amongst AoA, ChoA was by far the best looking, and unlike Seolhyun, ChoA could actually sing. Seolhyun can't act and I can't for the life of me figure out why she was ever popular.
bro literally left out the whole jimin bullying scandal, that had a HUGE impact
im sorry but this is scary. its like a psychopath stalker.. who tf counts the time down to seconds.. omg..
I mean, running man isn't a talk show
The transition from Seolhyun to Wonyoung was crazy. Like it literally gave me goosebumps. It's sad how female idols are valued only on the basis of their visuals and beauty and bound to it. Like they can't free themselves from it 🙁
i guarantee you, seolhyun's managers and agents were pushing running man staff to include lines about her being beautiful. that is her image that she wholly bought into, no one is exploiting her looks. she has earned a ton of money from it and did you ever stop to think that maybe she is just not a talkative person. there have been plenty of high-profile people, both men and women, who have featured on the show but left without saying much.
many guests are intimidated by the huge bank of cameras the show uses. the show itself doesn't script everything everybody says so guests are on their own to grab their speaking time. the show's members generally do a good job of facilitating this, asking guests questions and bringing them into discussions but some guests are just too shy. seolhyun is an idol and idols are some of the most quiet guests because many of them are praised for their looks but their personalities aren't super dynamic.
you can go through any idol group (men and women) and pick out the one who is valued for their looks over anything else like talent and personality. then people like you act surprised when these idols go into public venues and don't say a word?
this video is a bad take. you took a small part of one show and blew it up and lost all perspective.
I like Kpop but I also know it is abusive and creepy and weird. Like Korea itself, actually. No respect for women.
The koreans are sick in the head with their ridiculous beauty standards and extreme competition. Looks like not even the south is safe from the crazyness.
This is a poorly researched, with video that frames things wrong eg: she speaks more than he says and is in an episode with 5 other people who are also idols, did he check on their time speaking? what about the episode before and after? everything he says is guess work and conjecture. If anything it would be her agency who is telling her to be quiet not the producers.
Idols have come back to runningman when they become actors and they are superbubbly or someone like Dam Bi very strong personality. The host then asks them what has changed, it's obviously because they are now more an individual.
To me, considering this guy has done multiple videos on this same actress, he fancies her and created a video because he was upset he didn't get to see full what he wanted. And created this weird narrative to help himself cope.
Broooo when are you going to upload again
tbh I don't understand what you are trying to deliver here,
is it the program fault ?
is it seolhyun beauty fault ?
p.s animosity
WOW…..This is the kind of content people should be watching, this is so healthy, there wasnothing overwhelming, Just the simple truth. You're doing a great job. Believe me, many females, idol or not, must be thanking God for men like you.
It's so creepy that they just use her as visuals and only want her to giggle with no personality?? I wanna hear her do a full interview I think her personality would shine and I want to get to know her better
Bro, in the beginning, better get his teeth fixed before he judges someone else's appearance 😒😒
