      I like BIG BANG but one of the members is in jail for sex trafficking, he got released in February 2023, and the guy that wears the massive hat his name is T.O.P he's now left the group.

      Just want to add a little bit of info on timeline. There is about a 5 year age difference between each generation.

      BIGBANG is 2nd generation, they are still very young at age 35. They already served in the army.

      BTS is 3rd generation, they are just hitting 30 and some members have enlisted in the army.

      Stray Kids are 4th generation, they are 24-25 years old.

      The visuals and sound of this doesn't seem special now but when this came out it was revolutionary.
      Bigbang have always been innovators. They set all the trends that seem normal to kpop fans now. They were the first to give their fans a Fandom name, they were the first to create lightsticks, they were the first to dye their hair bright colors, G-Dragon single handedly changed the way male idols dress. The man invented kpop swag. And the music is amazing.
      Also they been gone so long because they went on a world tour in 2016-2017. Went into the military in 2018 got out in late 2019. Covid and scandals that caused them to lose a member in 2020. Most of the members left the label in 2021

      BigBang were never afraid to say what they felt about anything. They were the biggest thing from 2006 to 2016. They were also considered the bad boys of Kpop but the were the group that brought Kpop to the world. BTS were still in school when BigBang were at the top. BigBang inspired BTS. They are the idols of idols for a very long time. BigBang were the first to write and produce their own songs in Kpop. G Dragon produced the first light stick. The first to play instruments at concerts. The first to dye their hair and change hairstyles and so much more. This is why all Kpop groups look up to them. Kings
      They're actually the pioneer in a lot of things, from the lightsticks and changing haircolors/hairstyles, tattoos, going shirtless. They don't keep up with the "good boy idol" image. They're Big BIG in Korea, Korean people say that BIGBANG is like picking 5 superstars and form into one group. They're BIG and respected as solo artist.
      They have a song for every mood, hope you'll dive more into them especially their ballads. The group produce compose and write their own music and is very involved in everything from producing to stages, concerts.

      Those captions are auto generated..so its like a computer just going by sound ..lets say they saying in korean "mahni" which means "more" the the computer is gona generate into english word "money"..so if its auto generated might as well turn it off

      Just fyi, they didn’t put English subs on MVs before, it’s mostly a recent development during these last few years since K-pop has been blowing up internationally. If you check out MVs from before 2017 or perhaps even 2018 then they will rarely have accurate or any subs at all.

      Your favorite group may play larger venues and have greater album sales and more views, streams, etc. but how many of them can stay relevant after so many years despite numerous career-ending controversies? How many of them can stay relevant if they go through as many hiatuses as Big Bang has had? Big Bang don't have to constantly promote 2-3x a year just to stay on top. They do it through music alone. How many other groups can do the same?

      BIGBANG, THE MANUAL, THE BLUEPRINT, THE IDOL OF IDOLS, LITERALLY THE EMPEROR OF KPOP.

      the kpop u see nowadays is because of BIGBANG just name it, self producing idol? lightstick? airport fashion? idol being global ambassador for luxury brand? coloring hair with bright color every comeback? mini EP? literally all of this is because of BIGBANG.

      Bigbang made kpop what it is today . Everytime they come back the industry did an evolutionary step foward. There isnt an area they did not influenced and it goes beyond Asia and beyond music in all creative fields , fashion , art , movies , design . They are the inspiration for new generations of artists. They brought freedom of creation to kpop. Most of their scandals come from pushiong the limits . It was a scandal to make your owns music , to have colored hair, to organise an art expo. They are not saints , in a world that demand idols to be perfect creatures with saint images they lived like rock stars . They like to party .

      For the 1st generation of K-pop to go international was Psy – (YG, P-Nation) Gangnam Style > Big Bang/2NE1(YG)… Then BTS(BHE)/ BlackPink (YG). To know more about them and their discography – go to the Very unhelpful/helpful guides to Big Bang…
      Also, it's hard to say which songs as a group to recommend – cause there are a lot and each member is a solo artist (within the group)… GD, has the most collabs (Missy Elliott, Skrillex, Flo-Rida, T.O.P., etc ) with international artist as well as an impressive discography of his own solo works.
      Followed by Taeyang who is doing festivals and solo work ( many solo collabs with Lisa (BP), Jimin(BTS)…
      Followed by T.O.P which is now a free agent/solo artist – and, yes, he is going to the moon (or around it)…
      Daesung (the hair over eyes) is doing small gatherings in China…
      Seungri – the 5th band member left the group and is in Thailand…
